Barbrha Ibáñez

Barbrha Ibáñez is a seasoned communications and reputation management professional with over two decades of expertise in public relations, media strategy, crisis management, and public affairs. Throughout her career, she has successfully navigated highly regulated industries, including energy, transportation, aeronautics, automotive, and finance.

Barbrha has held pivotal roles in leading organizations. Most recently, she served as the Head of Communications for Enel Group in Mexico, where she directed communications strategies across the company’s three business lines. Her leadership during a politically sensitive period in the energy sector was instrumental in strengthening the company’s reputation through innovative storytelling, strategic partnerships, and sustainability initiatives. She also chaired the Communications Committee for the Mexican Energy Association (AME), further elevating Enel's presence and influence in Mexico.

Previously, Barbrha led crisis and corporate communications at Aeroméxico, where she managed high-profile initiatives, including the public campaign for the New Mexico City Airport project and the crisis communication strategy for flight AM2431. Her exceptional work earned recognition for maintaining transparency and safeguarding the airline’s reputation during challenging times.

Earlier in her career, Barbrha excelled as a consultant at Guerra Castellanos & Asociados, where she provided strategic public relations and media outreach support to a diverse portfolio of clients, including Mercado Pago, Toyota, and Volaris.

Barbrha holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences from Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM), complemented by diplomas in Conscious Leadership, Geopolitics, and Transportation Crisis Management. She is an active member of the International Public Relations Association (IPRA) and was a keynote speaker at IATA’s Crisis Communications Conference in 2018, held in Frankfurt, Germany.
